Indications & Dosage Guidelines
Acute Viral Hepatitis 1 dose of Jaundif
Guideline: With single dose, patients show significant improvement in the symptoms like vomiting, itching, fever, liver pain, loss of appetite and biochemical parameters. If required, Jaundif may be administered on Day 4 or 96 hours after the first instillation.
Alcoholic Fatty Liver
Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver/NASH
(Non Alcoholic SteatoHepatitis)
Chemotherapy Induced Hepatitis
1-3 doses of Jaundif
Guideline: If patients do not get significant improvement within 48-72 hours and the bilirubin levels do not come down by 50% of baseline within 7 days of the instillation, next dose of Jaundif must be administered on Day 8.
If in rare cases, bilirubin levels do not come down to normal or near normal within 15 days; Jaundif must be administered on Day 16 of the first instillation.
Obstructive Jaundice In case of obstructive jaundice the obstruction is to be removed first and then the dosage guideline similar to that for Acute Viral Hepatitis to be followed.
Acute Viral Hepatitis Hepatitis B
Guideline: In case of Hepatitis B virus, 1-10 doses may be required but every dose of Jaundif must be administered at an interval of 12 to 15 days. The doses are repeated only after laboratory Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) positive test.
In hepatitis B, Jaundif is used in recovery phase for assisting hepatocyte regeneration.

  • Jaundif inhibits lipid peroxidation & minimises the oxidative stress in liver
  • Inhibits the production of inflammatory cytokines (TNF-a)
  • Stabilizes the hepatic cell membrane
  • Protects liver from toxic metabolites
  • Inhibits fat deposition in liver and thus useful in alcoholic fatty liver
  • Results in faster regeneration of hepatic parenchyma
